Recovering from Veritas VEA GUI errors
Veritas Volume Manager GUI is more functional and intuitive that that of any other volume management application. However, once in a while the VEA GUI becomes corrupted and displays incorrect information. One of the symptoms is disks that should be imported and active appear as deported or foreign, making resizing volumes impossible. In a situation like this simply restarting the GUI does not fix the problem and the following steps should be followed:
- Start vea
- /opt/VRTSob/bin/vxsvc -r
- /opt/VRTSob/config/Registry
- /etc/inet.d/isis stop
- /etc/inet.d/isis start
- Close VEA and start it again
Does anyone knows what is the difference between Ubuntu and all other Ubuntu derivatives ( Kubuntu, Edubuntu etc.) and i would also like to know which one has less errors, bus etc. Thank you.
